Frequently asked

How quickly do you turn work around?

Anything under five minutes comes back the same day, usually within a few hours. Longer scripts and anything needing character work, next morning.

If you are against a deadline, say so when you send the script. I would rather move something than have you find out at six o'clock that I could not.

Can you be directed live?

Yes. Source-Connect for broadcast sessions, ipDTL or Cleanfeed if your studio prefers them, and Zoom or Teams when it is a client who just wants to listen in.

If you use something not on that list, tell me and I will set it up before the session rather than during it.

Do you charge for pickups?

Not when they are my mistake. A fluff, a mispronunciation, a line I read past, those come back corrected at no cost for as long as the project is alive.

A script change, a new direction or a fresh take on something already approved is new work, and I will quote it before doing it.

What do I actually receive?

Edited WAV at 48 kHz, 24 bit as standard, one file per take unless you want them split by line. MP3 as well if it is going into a rough cut.

Tell me the spec your edit wants and you get that instead. Nobody should be converting files at their end.

Is the audio edited, or do I get the raw take?

Edited as standard. Breaths trimmed where they are distracting, mouth noise cleaned, mistakes and false starts removed, topped and tailed.

Raw files on request if your engineer would rather do it themselves, which some do, and that is completely fine.

How does usage work?

The quote covers the usage we agree: where it runs, for how long, and in which territories. Nothing is hidden in the small print.

If the campaign is extended or moves somewhere new, that is a usage renewal rather than a re-record, and it is cheaper than the first booking.

Can you match a reference read?

Send it with the script. A reference tells me in ten seconds what a paragraph of direction takes three emails to get across.

I will match the energy and the pacing. I will not do an impression of a named performer, which is a legal problem for both of us rather than an artistic one.

What do you need before a session?

The final script, pronunciation notes for anything unusual, and who the audience is. A reference is a bonus.

If the script is still moving, send it anyway and mark what is likely to change. I would rather read a draft and re-read a line than wait a week for a lock.

About Tom

Hello there. My name is Tomasz (pronounced Tom-ash) - and if you were wondering, yes, it is Polish. I've been developing actor websites since 2012 and it has become my passion! When I lived in New York, I have built over 150 websites for real estate companies, some which paid me upwards of $40,000 per project, but after moving to Los Angeles I've met so many hungry actors who had the drive to get themselves out there, but no means to pay for a quality website. With IADB Actor Websites I was able to solve this issue, offering actors the quality service at a very low price and even for free. You heard me right. If you're just browsing and want to check it out, you can easily register for a free actor website and test the waters. I'm very confident that you will love it. "How do they look" you may ask? Guess what - you're looking at one. Wanna know how long it took me to fill it out? This bio is the last thing I'm doing and the timer is at 4 minutes 32 seconds. Stop. Save. Donezo! 😍
